AKUT supports climate strike on 20 September

Far more than 2,000 business enterprises are now demanding an ambitious climate protection law – “with full conviction”. This is emphasised by the statement of Entrepreneurs For Future, which AKUT Partnership has now signed up to.

On 20 September, the #FridaysForFuture initiative called for a global climate strike. The success of this initiative will determine whether sufficient pressure can be put on the government to act immediately and consistently. This commitment must no longer be left to young people alone.

We too feel compelled to demand effective political decisions from the government. For more than 30 years AKUT has mainly been working on technical solutions for environmental protection. Now that the jungle is burning and Germany is affected by extreme weather conditions, the urgency of a targeted climate policy must have become clear.

Citizens and companies must not tolerate that the minimum requirements for limiting global warming already negotiated internationally in the Paris Treaty continue to be disregarded by its Government.

Never before have such drastic measures been necessary to protect our environment worldwide. That is why we also support the call for a climate strike on 20 September. At this global #FridayForFuture our office will remain closed. Join us on the company outing to the Chancellery in Berlin or wherever you are in this world – on our singular globe .
